Barton Springs Pool Bypass Tunnel & Dam Repairs

The Barton Springs Pool Bypass Tunnel is a box culvert tunnel located at the Barton Springs Pool. The bypass tunnel is approximately 6 ft high by 10 ft wide (internal dimensions) by about 1000 feet long. The project consisted of repairs and rehabilitation to both the existing Barton Springs Pool Bypass Tunnel & the Downstream Dam.

Work consisted of removing and replacing a portion of the West end of the retaining wall along the North side of the pool sidewalk. The project required Coffer Dams & Dewatering System, Rebar Stitching for floor cracks and New Concrete Floor with drilled anchors. All work was performed in a zone with endangered species and critical wildlife concerns without incident
